About this tool
Use this recorder for voice-overs, podcast takes, interview answers, music practice or a quick memo. The level meter shows whether your microphone is picking you up — aim for the bar to move well into the green without turning red, which means the sound is too loud and may distort.
Each recording can be played back, then downloaded in the browser’s native format (WebM or Ogg with Opus, or M4A on Safari — small files) or converted to WAV, an uncompressed format that every editor and phone can open. You can make several recordings in a row; they stay listed until you leave the page.
Frequently asked questions
Can I download the recording as MP3?
This tool offers the browser’s native format (WebM/Ogg/M4A) and WAV. WAV opens everywhere; convert it to MP3 with any audio app if a site insists on MP3.
Why can’t the page use my microphone?
Allow microphone access when the browser asks. If you blocked it earlier, click the lock icon next to the address and set Microphone to Allow.
Is my voice uploaded?
No. The audio is recorded and stored only in your browser until you download it.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes, in recent Chrome, Firefox and Safari on Android and iPhone.
