About this tool

Record a tutorial, a bug report, an online class, a presentation or a quick walkthrough for a client. Your browser asks which screen, window or tab to share; recording starts straight away and stops when you click Stop or the browser’s “Stop sharing” button. You can pause and resume in between.

Videos are saved in the format your browser records natively — usually WebM, which plays in Chrome, Firefox, Edge and VLC and uploads to YouTube and Google Drive. Tab audio is easiest to capture when you share a Chrome or Edge tab; whole-screen system audio depends on your operating system. Mobile browsers don’t let websites record the screen, so use a computer.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a time limit or watermark?

No watermark and no fixed time limit. Very long recordings are limited only by your computer’s memory, because the video is kept on your device until you download it.

What format is the video?

Usually WebM (Chrome, Edge, Firefox); some browsers record MP4. WebM plays in modern browsers and VLC and can be uploaded to YouTube directly.

Why is there no sound from my computer?

System audio is only offered for some sources — sharing a browser tab in Chrome or Edge works best. Make sure “Share tab audio” or “Share system audio” is ticked in the browser’s sharing window.

Can I record my screen on a phone?

Not from a website — mobile browsers don’t allow it. Use your phone’s built-in screen recorder instead.
