About this tool
Government and exam websites (SSC, UPSC, IBPS, NEET, passport and visa portals) often accept photos and scanned documents only below a fixed size such as 20 KB, 50 KB or 100 KB. This tool finds the best quality that fits under your target, and gently scales the image down only if it really has to.
Everything happens inside your browser using the HTML canvas, so your photos are never uploaded. That also makes it fast — even on a phone.
Frequently asked questions
How do I compress a photo to exactly 50 KB?
Choose “Target file size”, type 50 and drop your photo. The tool picks the highest quality that stays under 50 KB, so the result is usually 45–50 KB.
Will compression reduce the image dimensions?
Only if the target is so small that lower quality alone can’t reach it. Then the image is scaled down in small steps until it fits.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Compression runs entirely in your browser; nothing is sent to a server.
Which format gives the smallest file?
WebP is usually 25–35% smaller than JPG at the same quality, but some older forms only accept JPG — use JPG for official uploads.
