About this tool
Names are shuffled with a fair Fisher–Yates shuffle (using secure randomness) and dealt into teams one by one, so team sizes never differ by more than one person. Duplicate names are removed automatically.
Choose “Number of teams” when you know how many groups you need, or “People per team” when the group size matters (for example pairs or groups of four). Click again for a fresh random split — handy if everyone wants a re-draw.

Are the teams balanced?
In size, yes — sizes differ by at most one. Skill isn’t considered; everything is random.
Can I name the teams?
Yes. Type names separated by commas, like “Red, Blue, Green”. Extra teams get numbers.
Is my list saved?
Your names are remembered in this browser only, so they’re ready next time.
